Abstract

The magnitude of the earthquake load received by the structure is influenced by the peak acceleration parameters of the bedrock for a period of 0.2 seconds (Ss) and a period of 1 second (S1). This research measures the effect of increasing Ss by 0.1g on 10 and 30 storey building structures in DIY. The parameters measured include frequency, story drift, p-delta influence, stiffness and stability index in 7 sub-districts in DIY using equivalent static earthquake analysis and response spectrum variance analysis. The frequency of 10 and 30 storey buildings in the first 3 modes is less than 1 Hz. This frequency is below the peak acceleration frequency of the DIY earthquake which was measured in the range of 1.25 Hz to 7.14 Hz in the 7 sub-districts studied. The frequency of earthquake vibrations in DIY is more dangerous for low to medium storey buildings or buildings with a period (T) of less than 0.8 seconds. An increase in Ss of 0.1g in a 10-story building resulted in the earthquake force distribution increasing by 3.99% in the x and y directions, story drift increasing by 4.12% in the x and y directions, p-delta increasing by 0.46% in the x and 0.28% in y direction, rigid structure, each floor is a swaying portal. Meanwhile, in a 30-story building, the earthquake force distribution increased by 6.24% in the x and y directions, story drift increased by 6.27% in the x direction and 5.31% in the y direction, p-delta increased by 0.15% in the x direction and 0.55% in y direction, rigid structure, each floor is a swaying portal..
